A lesson of trust by Carla Chiaberta
For an accurate knowledge of Carla Chiaberta’s work, one needs to be acquainted with her previous production, the one on “picture tales” which occupied many years of work. She then disembarked, after quite a long time of meditation to the discovery or perhaps to be more exact, to a rediscovery of the human figure with candour innocence.
In our opinion, Carla Chiaberta is one of those rare artists who has been able to find from internal meditation the reasons of both the thoroughness of their discourse (pictorial-poetical) and the technical refinements. The proof of what we are writing, the readers will be able to verify and gather from the contents in this exhibition, the basic meaning found in this woman-painter’s art.
Man’s history and the things which surround it with the personal capacity to express on canvas such contents with disquieting elegance.
Carla Chiaberta is an expert of a technique without going beyond exhibitionism, even where its virtuous executives are clearly seen. But if in her last production she has reached results with vivid and joyful naturalness, it is above all, around the human figure that she has achieved technically important and influent images. The ability to stabilize poetic emotion and to transmit it in fine tension, constructs in our opinion the most interesting result in Carla Chiaberta’s research.
If not taken into consideration this ability, it would be easy to undervalue her art.
Carla Chiaberta watches sincerely at everyday situations. Women, trees, boats, landscapes, dead nature and flowers interpretated and presented on canvas in a very original way opening a new season of communication with her public which will be more authentic, especially because of the discovered sensibility in presenting daily life and the things which surround it with quality and anxiety.
